This week, the boys’ rants are inspired by a visit to an afternoon baseball game in which the Nats made a late-inning comeback against the Mets. Football is evil and damaging its players’ bodies and morals, but we as fans can’t stop watching it! Just kidding–we’re not fans. News articles that identify the reasons to opt out of football are more like pressure relief valves than cultural imperatives. Abomination: Football forces us into an event-based experience. Whereas, baseball gives us a prolonged feeling that captures the magic of the season. Think of Christmas Day versus the Christmas Season. Which do you prefer? We prefer that football sucks it.
